스텔라는 포니와 함께 대한민국 자동차 모델의 시작점이자 시대를 상징하는 유산으로, 단순한 과거의 기억이 아닌, 여전히 살아 숨 쉬는 영감의 원천입니다. 우리는 그 본질을 존중하면서도 현대적 언어로 다시 정의하여, 단순한 복원이 아닌 새로운 디자인 언어와 경험으로 재해석한 스텔라를 제안합니다.
Stellar, alongside Pony, stands as a pioneering archetype of Korean automotive history and a heritage symbolizing an era. Far from being a mere relic of the past, it remains a living source of inspiration. Respecting its core essence while redefining it through a contemporary lens, we propose a reincarnated Stellar, reinterpreted not as a simple restoration, but as an entirely new design language and experience.
조르제토 주지아로(Giorgetto Giugiaro)가 정의한 스텔라의 원형, 즉 기하학적이고 날카로운 쐐기형(Wedge-shape) 디자인 DNA를 심층적으로 분석하여 이를 현대적인 비례감으로 재구성하는 데 집중했습니다. 1980년대 세단 고유의 수평적이고 날카로운 벨트라인을 유지하되, 자칫 평면적으로 보일 수 있는 면과 볼륨을 정교하게 다듬었습니다. 클래식한 실루엣 위에 현대적인 픽셀 라이트(Pixel Light)와 차가운 금속성을 강조한 '아트 오브 스틸(Art of Steel)' 콘셉트를 결합해, 단순한 복원을 넘어 과거와 미래를 잇는 새로운 레스토모드(Restomod)를 표현하고자 했습니다.
This project focuses on deeply analyzing the original Stella's sharp, geometric wedge-shape design DNA defined by Giorgetto Giugiaro and reinterpreting it with modern proportions. While maintaining the classic horizontal, sharp beltline of the 1980s sedan, I meticulously refined the surfaces and volumes that could otherwise appear flat. By fusing the heritage silhouette with contemporary Pixel Light and the 'Art of Steel' concept emphasizing a cold metallic texture, this design goes beyond mere restoration to express a new restomod identity, one that doesn't just look back, but bridges the gap between heritage and the future.
